5 of Our Favorite Books to Read Before Bed

5 of Our Favorite Books to Read Before Bed

Forget TV or a movie; there's nothing like cuddling up to a good read before bed. Getting lost in a book, taken by the story and becoming invested in the characters is such a great experience. Everyone has their favorites, and here are 5 of our favorite books to read before bed:

1. For those who love the outdoorsWild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed

If the name sounds familiar, it's because a film adaptation staring Reese Witherspoon was made a couple years ago. It's a book about finding oneself, via a 1,000+ mile hiking expedition, when your life seems to be spiraling out of control.

2. For those who want to get a better night's sleep - The Sleep Revolution by Ariana Huffington

If you haven't heard about this book, where have you been? This monster hit features the businesswoman, and co-founder of The Huffington Post, writing about our current culture's sleep deprivation crisis. She explains how this is affecting our health, job performance, and relationships with others.

3. For those who want a good Laugh - Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan

Yes, stand up comedians can write books, and there's not many people out there than Jim Gaffigan. Famous for his jokes about shaming himself, Jim took pen to paper to discuss his love of food. Warning: reading this one might lead to unintended late night snacking

4. For those who like the classics - The Art of War by Sun Tzu

A lot of people in the west haven't read this ancient Chinese text, from the 5th Century B.C. but they should. Technically a book on military strategy, the teachings in the book can be applied to many aspects of life. In fact, there have been many adaptations and versions of the text to attribute the teachings for everything from career building to love.

5. For those who want to escape the real world - The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe by CS Lewis

If you rather read about fantasy and escape real life for a moment, there isn't a much better read than the Chronicles of Narnia series of books. If you've seen the movie, it's still worth it to read, if you haven't already. Even though it's a children's book, adults should still enjoy it, because there's no imagination like that of a kid.

If you've just finished up a good read, let us know and perhaps we'll add it to the list. Have fun getting lost in the pages.
